Step-by-step guide to integrating Typeform with WhatsApp using Zapier

The process will vary depending on what you're trying to automate. The following steps will show you how to create a new contact from a Lead Ad created on Facebook or Instagram in Superchat and contact them via WhatsApp.

  1. Create a [WhatsApp template with your confirmation message in Superchat] (https://intercom-help.eu/superx/en/articles/25035-get-started-whatsapp-templates). Please note that new contacts can only be contacted via the WhatsApp API using approved templates.
  2. Open Zapier, click 'Create' in the top left corner and select 'Zap'.
  3. Use the Facebook Leads Ads or Instagram Lead Ads app as the trigger and select the New Lead event. (If you're managing your Facebook and Instagram Ads in the same Business Account, you can use either App for both) 4. Optional: Select a lead form you want to use from the "Step details" menu.
  4. Next, add a new step using the Superchat app with the 'Find a contact' event. In the 'Action' menu, under 'Field', select the preferred contact attribute in Superchat (the phone number for WhatsApp contacts) and in the 'Value' field select the corresponding result from your Lead Ads.
  5. Add another step with the Superchat app, and select 'Create Contact' as the event, and fill in the contact attributes with the answers from your Lead Ads.
  6. Add another step with the Superchat app, and select 'Send WhatsApp Template' as the event, if you want to contact your new leads automatically. In the "Action" fill out the fields to prefill your message. Pick the phone number from your Lead Ads trigger and select the WhatsApp template you created in step 1.
  7. Test the steps and then publish the Zap (Off/On).
  8. Any contact who converts through a lead ad will now automatically be added to Superchat and will receive a confirmation via WhatsApp.

In the video, we're using a Typeform integration, but you can use the same workflow for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn Lead Ads or similar. All you need to do is change the trigger for the workflow.
