Trengo - An overwhelming platform

Trengo offers a very large number of integrations, channels and functions for a reasonable price. However, the monthly costs can be expensive depending on how many conversations you have per month and how many employee accesses you need. All plans include only five employee accesses.

For smaller companies and medium-sized businesses, this range can be overwhelming. Before you decide to use this tool, you should be clear about your requirements and the associated costs.

Superchat vs. Trengo - Features

Here is a simple example to illustrate how to determine the total monthly costs. For simplicity, we will focus on the number of employee accesses and the number of marketing messages sent via WhatsApp, as these, along with the choice of pricing plan, are the two main factors in calculating the total costs.

Meta charges 11.31 cents per marketing message on WhatsApp in Germany, and Superchat passes these costs on to customers without any markup. In contrast, Trengo charges 15 € for 100 marketing messages, which equates to 15 cents per marketing message. Therefore, Trengo adds an extra 4 cents per marketing message on Meta's fee.

In addition to marketing messages, WhatsApp also offers cheaper messages for transactions, authentications, and general service. However, these types of messages are excluded from this example to keep the calculation straightforward. Both Superchat and Trengo offer their customers a monthly budget (bonus) for messages, so no additional costs are incurred as long as this budget is not exceeded.
